Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC)-(NAIA)
Overview: After a competitive season in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) throughout the traditional fall season of 2021, it was the Ottawa University Spirit from Arizona that emerged on top of that league, finishing the regular season at 8-1 in conference play. The Spirit's season ended in the opening round of the NAIA playoffs, with OUAZ falling to eventual national championship Morningside 63-38 to finish at 8-2 overall.
Quickly looking ahead to 2022, OUAZ begins the season as the preseason favorite to repeat as SAC champions, with the likes of Arizona Christian (8-2, 7-2), Texas Wesleyan (7-3, 7-2), Southwestern Assemblies of God (9-3, 6-3) and Langston (7-3, 6-3) all looking to mount a strong challenge for the crown.
