Frontier Conference (FC)-(NAIA)


Overview: If you're a fan of parity, then the Frontier Conference (FC) was for you in the fall of  2021.

After a regular season where all eight teams appeared to beat up on each other each week, three of those squads finished with identical records of 7-3, in the College of Idaho, Montana Western, and Rocky Mountain, respectively. However, only UMW advanced to postseason play, as the Bulldogs fell to then-defending national champion Lindsey Wilson in the first round of the NAIA playoffs, to finish their season at 8-4 overall. One of the Bulldogs' wins came against Dickinson State in a 42-30  non-conference road win on September 11.

By the time this post is posted on this blog, all eight teams in the FC will have moved at least 24 hours closer to the opening week kickoff of their 2022 season, with UMW starting the year ranked at #17 in the NAIA preseason poll, with Rocky Mountain not far behind at #19. Once again, don't be surprised if the race for the league title literally comes down to the final play of the final week of the regular season. Also, don't count out a perennial favorite in Carroll (Mont.)-(6-4 overall in 2021).
