STEAMWHEELERS SHOCK PIONEERS

The 2008 arenafootball2 season barely got underway Friday night, but the Quad City Steamwheelers pulled off the biggest upset of the year, so far, as they stunned the defending Arena Cup runner-up Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers, 48-41, in Moline, Ill.

ARENA CUP RETURNS TO HOST SITE FORMAT

The 2008 arenafootball2 season will see a return to a familiar postseason format. The 2008 Arena Cup title game will return to the host venue of the participating team, af2 officials recently announced. The last three Arena Cups were held at neutral sites; Bossier City, La., and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
