THE RFC MYC: Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC)-(NAIA)

Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC)-(NAIA)

Overview: The Grand View University Vikings continued their dominance of the Heart of America Conference (HAAC) in the fall of 2021, as they finished 5-0 in the North Division en route to a final overall record of 14-1. The Vikings' season came to a close after losing to Morningside, 38-28, on December 18.

As for the South Division, the Central Methodist University Eagles also finished unbeaten at 5-0 to claim the crown on that side of the HAAC. CMU fell to Northwestern (Iowa) in the first round of the NAIA playoffs to end its season at 9-3 overall.

The outlook for 2022 has Grand View as the favorite to repeat as North Division champions, while the Baker University Wildcats (9-2 overall, 4-1 in the HAAC in 2021) were favored to win the South Division title this fall.

Finally, in off-the-field news, Missouri Baptist University accepted an invitation to join the HAAC as an associate member for the 2023 season. The addition of the St. Louis-based institution gives the HAAC 13 members that will play football next fall, with the Spartans joining the South Division, while the North Division will remain at six teams.
