North Star Athletic Association (NSAA)-(NAIA)
Overview: Despite losing their first two games of the traditional fall season, the Dickinson State University Blue Hawks once again proved why they were the team to beat in the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) in 2021. The Blue Hawks reeled off eight straight wins after starting 0-2 to win another NSAA title at 8-0 in conference play. Dickinson State's ended in the opening round of the NAIA playoffs, with the Blue Hawks falling to Grand View, 38-13, to end their season at 8-3 overall.
Fast-forwarding to the start of the 2022 season, Dickinson State once again has been named the favorite to win yet another NSAA title. However, expect strong challenges from Valley City State (8-2, 6-2), Waldorf (7-3, 5-3), and Dakota State (6-4, 5-3), among other squads, in hopes of dethroning the Blue Hawks as conference champions this fall.
