THE RFC MYC: Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC)-(NCAA Division III)

Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC)-(NCAA Division III)

Overview: The Saint John's University Johnnies rallied to beat the Bethel University Royals on a last-second touchdown to win the inaugural Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) championship game on November 13, 2021. Not only did the come-from-behind win over Bethel give SJU its 35th conference championship in school history, but it also gave the Johnnies an undefeated regular season at 10-0.

In the NCAA Division III playoffs, SJU rolled past Lake Forest, 41-14, in the first round before losing a heartbreaker to Linfield in the second round, 31-28, to end the Johnnies' season at 11-1 overall. As for Bethel (Minn.), the Royals saw their season come to a close in the first round after falling to Central, 61-35, to finish their campaign at 8-3 overall.

With two teams in St. John's at #5, as well as Bethel at #13, both ranked in the d3football.com preseason Top 25 poll, don't be surprised if this year's MIAC title comes down to both of those aforementioned teams.
