RFC Throwback Thursday: Georgia State at Georgia Southern-2016

(Video courtesy of ESPN.)

This week's installment of "RFC Throwback Thursday" turns the clock back to November 19, 2016. That was when the fledgling Georgia State University Panthers program played host to a Georgia Southern University Eagles squad that was finishing its' third season at the FBS level after spending more than three decades at the FCS (formerly NCAA Division I-AA) level.

Despite only having had a football program since 2010, the Panthers found a way to knock off the Eagles, 30-24. Georgia State finished its' 2016 season at 3-9 overall, while Georgia Southern finished at 5-7 overall. Entering the 2023 contest, Georgia State leads the overall series, 6-3.
