THE RFC MYC: Centennial Conference (CC)-(NCAA Division III)

Centennial Conference (CC)-(NCAA Division III)

Overview: The 2019 season was the "Year of the Muhlenberg College Mules" of Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Mules cruised through Centennial Conference (CC) play unbeaten at 9-0 to not only claim the conference crown but also finish the regular season undefeated at 10-0.

In the NCAA Division III playoffs, the Mules crushed MITBrockport, and Salisbury by a combined score of 104-8, before seeing their season end at the hands of eventual national champion North Central in the Mules first-ever national semifinal appearance. Muhlenberg's season ended at 13-1 overall after losing to the Cardinals.

The only other CC program to win at least 10 games in 2019 was Susquehanna. The River Hawks finished last fall at 10-1 overall, with their lone loss coming to Muhlenberg in a dramatic 24-17 overtime contest on September 21. Susquehanna bounced back from that tough loss to end the season with eight straight wins, which included an 88-24 rout of Wilkes in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series on November 23.

With the Centennial Conference's decision to cancel the 2020 season due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, Muhlenberg will have the opportunity to defend its championship this fall.
