Overview: The Framingham State University Rams overcame an 0-2 start to win eight straight games and another Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) championship in 2019. The Rams fell to Wesley in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs to finish the season at 8-3 overall.
As for the Western Connecticut State University Colonials, the start to the 2019 season was almost similar to that of the 2018 season, when they started 8-0, only to stumble in their last two games to finish 8-2. Last season, however, WCSU got off to a 6-0 start before falling to Framingham State on October 26, followed by another loss to UMass-Dartmouth one week later.
Entering what is sure to be a tumultuous 2020 season, due mainly to the coronavirus, expect both Framingham State and Western Connecticut State to challenge for the MASCAC crown yet again, although with multiple challengers, as six of the conference's nine teams finished the 2019 season with at least six wins overall.
