Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC)-(FCS)
Overview: So far, this current decade has belonged to the North Dakota State University Bison, as they have won seven FCS national championships in the last eight seasons. In 2018, the Bison added yet another national championship trophy to their case, as they outlasted Eastern Washington 38-24 in the FCS title on January 5, 2019.
If NDSU (15-0 overall in 2018) is to end the decade with eight titles in the last nine years dating back to 2011, the Bison must try to accomplish that feat under new head coach Matt Entz. He replaces Chris Klieman, who left North Dakota State to accept the head coaching position at Kansas State.
One team that could pose a serious challenge to NDSU in the MVFC could be the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits, who finished the 2018 season at 10-3 overall and 6-2 in conference play, good enough for second place in the league. SDSU fell to NDSU in the national semifinals on December 14. Don't count out Northern Iowa (7-6, 5-3) or Indiana State (7-4, 5-3) either.
