RFC Throwback Thursday: The History of Conference Realignment (1978-2018)

(Video courtesy of CFBin30)

With "conference realignment" being the "hot topic" in college sports these days, it's only fitting that this week's installment of "RFC Throwback Thursday" is dedicated to the history of such changes within those conferences over the past 40-plus years. The video above tracks the entire history of the movement of teams from one conference to another dating back to 1978. That was the year that both of what is now the FBS (formerly NCAA Division I-A) and FCS (formerly NCAA Division I-AA), were formed by the NCAA. Pay close attention, and you'll find that many current FCS, as well as Group Of Five programs, and even a few familiar conferences-for that matter, were all either I-AA or I-A members at some point between 1978 and 2018.
