2012 Profiles (2011 overall record in parentheses)
Dakota State (1-10): Can anybody say "nowhere to go but up" for the Trojans?
Haskell Indian Nations (0-11): The Indians are also in the same situation after a winless 2011 season.
Jamestown (3-7): The Jimmies must adjust to being an independent after many years as a member of the Dakota Athletic Conference.
Mayville State (5-6): The Comets were 4-2 at home, but a dismal 1-4 on the road in 2011. The latter numbers must change if they hope to post a winning record in 2012.
Menlo (5-5): The Oaks challenging 2012 schedule includes games against perennial NCAA Division III powers Linfield and Wesley.
Valley City State (9-2): The only team in the group to post a winning record last season, the Vikings advanced to the NAIA playoffs before being clobbered by eventual national runner-up Carroll (Mont.), 47-0, in the first round.
