2012 Profiles (2011 overall record in parentheses)
Ave Maria (0-9): The Gyrenes enter their second season of varsity football looking for their program's first-ever win. They gave up 40 or more points in six of their games last season. An interesting note about the 2012 schedule is that the Gyrenes will play three exhibition games this season.
Edward Waters (4-6): The Tigers hope to finish 2012 with a winning record. But with a schedule games against FCS and NCAA Division II, getting there might not be an easy task.
Point (2-5): The Skyhawks from West Point, Georgia, will play their first full varsity schedule in 2012. In all, they'll play 11 games, three against D-II schools, and one against NCAA Division III Millsaps.
Southern Virginia (2-7): As their program hopes to begin transition to the D-III level by 2013, the Knights hope that 2012 will mark the beginning of great things to come for them. The season will open for them on August 30, at FCS Morehead State.
Webber International (4-6): The Warriors overcame a dismal 1-6 start to the 2011 season, ending it with three straight wins. Hopefully, that encouraging finish can carry over into the 2012 season.
