THE RFC MYC: Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC)-(NAIA)

Mid-South Conference (MSC)-(NAIA)

Overview: The Reinhardt University Eagles out of Waleska, Georgia finished 8-2 overall, as well as undefeated in league action at 5-0 in winning the inaugural Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) championship in 2022. The Eagles season ended in the first round of the NAIA playoffs, as they fell at Lindsey Wilson, 23-22.

One team that could provide a serious challenge to Reinhardt's place at the top of the AAC going into 2023 is the Bluefield University Rams from Bluefield, Virginia. The Rams finished 2022 at 8-3 overall, and 4-1 in AAC action. Their lone AAC loss came to Reinhardt in a 45-21 setback on October 15

The AAC's membership will grow by one team, from six to seven, this season, with the University of Pikeville Bears out of Pikeville, Kentucky making the move from the Mid-South Conference. The Bears hope to build on the 6-4 overall and 5-3 finish that they had in M-SC play last fall

Other teams to watch in the AAC this fall are Point (4-7, 3-2) and Kentucky Christian (3-8, 2-3).
