RFC "Throwback Thursday" makes its long-awaited return with a look back at the Appalachian State-Michigan State game from September 1, 2007 (yes, exactly 15 years ago on this date). Before an announced crowd of 109, 218 attendees, the then back-to-back defending NCAA Division I-AA/FCS national champion Mountaineers stunned the then #5-ranked Wolverines, 34-32, pulling off what's currently the biggest upset in college football history in the process. That win helped App State to win its third-straight national championship, as they defeated Delaware 49-21 on December 14 to finish their season at 13-2 overall, with the Mountaineers' only losses coming to Wofford and Georgia Southern, both in Southern Conference play.
