In recognition of Veterans Day Weekend, this week's installment of "RFC Throwback Thursday" turns the clock back to 1966. That was when the Navy Midshipmen was one of the multiple teams that competed as an independent (not affiliated with a conference) program in what was then known as the NCAA University Division (now the FBS).
The first video above is the audio of a radio broadcast of the Syracuse/Navy game from October 8, 1966, while the second video below features the broadcast of the Notre Dame contest from October 29, 1966. The Midshipmen finished the 1966 season at 4-6 overall.
