When the dust finally settled, the Springfield College Pride (10-1 overall) won their league's first-ever title after finishing undefeated at 7-0 in NEWMAC play. The Pride fell to Husson, 23-21, in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. The only other NEWMAC team to win at least nine games last season was the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Engineers, who defeated Maritime (N.Y.), 17-3, to win a New England Bowl Series game.
