RFC Small College Preview: The Sun Conference (TSC)--(NAIA)

The Sun Conference (TSC)

2014 Football Standings

Looking back: The inaugural season of football in The Sun Conference (TSC) was highlighted by Webber International winning the conference's initial championship. The Warriors won seven straight games after starting 0-3 overall to win the first-ever TSC crown at 4-1 in conference play.

Looking ahead: The main goal for the TSC entering its second season of football is to send its first-ever representative to the NAIA playoffs.

Predicted order of finish (2014 overall record in parentheses):

1. Webber International (7-3): Warriors tough non-conference schedule includes visits to perennial NAIA powerhouse St. Xavier, as well as intra-state Florida showdown at NCAA Division I FCS Stetson.

2. Southeastern (7-3): The Fire will leave the Sunshine State just twice during the 2015 season; a visit to Point in Valley, Alabama on October 24, followed by a season-ending trip to Columbia, South Carolina to face NCAA Division II Benedict.

3. Warner (5-5): The Royals look to have a happier ending after back-to-back losses to close out the 2014 season forced them to settle for a three-way for second place with Southeastern and Ave Maria.

4. Ave Maria (5-6):  Despite falling back to below .500 after going 8-2 in 2013, a three-game winning streak to end 2014 has the Gyrenes and their fans looking for more in 2015

5. Edward Waters (4-6): The Tigers face a tough task in trying to improve on last year's 2-3 mark in TSC play last season.

6. Point (0-9): Nowhere to "soar" but "high" for the Skyhawks after going winless in 2014.
