WHITWORTH DOWNS LINFIELD, CLINCHES SHARE OF NWC TITLE

Linfield College (Ore.) may hold the collegiate record for consecutive winning seasons with 51 in a row, but it's Whitworth that stands just one win away from winning the NCAA Division III Northwest Conference title outright, as the Pirates ran their record to 10-0 with a 17-13 win over the Wildcats Saturday. It was Whitworth's first win over Linfield since 1975.

SAINT FRANCIS CRUSHES WALSH, CLINCHES MIDEAST LEAGUE CROWN

The "Game Of The Week" in the NAIA took place in Fort Wayne, Ind. Saturday, as the University of St. Francis clinched the Mid-States Football Association Mideast League Championship with a 21-7 win over Walsh (Ohio). USF entered the game as the nation's top-ranked team, while Walsh was ranked third. Both teams were also undefeated coming into the crucial contest.
