SUNDAY DRIVE--WEEK ENDING SEPTEMBER 16, 2006--NCAA DIVISION II ROUND-UP

Well, we're past the halfway point in the month of September, and already, the small college divisions had their own version of "Separation Saturday".

First, we'll start at the NCAA Division II level, and the state of Michigan, where Ferris State proved that they belong along the elite teams in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) by upsetting heavily favored Saginaw Valley State 26-23 in Big Rapids.

In Vermillion, S.D., the University of South Dakota Coyotes opened North Central Conference play on a winning note, as they downed Minnesota-Duluth 27-14.
