Overview: Three teams-Colorado Mesa, Colorado Mines, and Colorado State-Pueblo-all finished the 2016 season with a three-way split of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) championship at 8-2 in league action. Colorado Mines (10-3 overall in 2016) advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs, losing to Ferris State, while Colorado Mesa (9-3 overall) saw their season come to an end in the first round, falling to Texas A&M-Commerce. As for CSU-Pueblo (8-3 overall), the Thunderwolves are now almost three years removed from winning the national championship (2014), finding themselves on the outside looking in when postseason play rolled around last fall.
