Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC)-(NCAA Division II)

Overview: Despite having multiple teams that posted winning seasons in 2021, only one of those teams in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) finished the fall season with at least 10 wins overall. The surprising Bemidji State University Beavers were that team, as they finished their campaign at 10-3 overall while clinching a share of the conference championship along the way. After winning the North Division title at 6-0, the Beavers stunned Augustana (S.D.)-(9-3 overall in 2021) in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs, before falling to the Colorado School of Mines in the second round.

With the 2022 season just around the corner, expect both Augustana and Bemidji State are expected to do battle for the NSIC title again this fall, as the Vikings were named the preseason favorite to win the overall crown, with the Beavers not far behind. But don't count out squads such as Minnesota-Duluth (9-3 overall in 2021), Minnesota State (6-5), Northern State (7-4), Sioux Falls (8-3), and Winona State (7-4), among others.
