Midwest Conference (MWC)-(NCAA Division III)
Overview: The Lake Forest College Foresters were one of the few programs outside of the FBS level to win at least 10 games throughout the 2021 calendar year, as they followed up an unbeaten 3-0 spring season with a 10-0 regular season mark to close out the fall schedule. LFC also won its sixth conference championship in program history, finishing unbeaten in Midwest Conference (MWC) play at 9-0. The Foresters' season ended in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs, falling 41-14 to St. John's (Minn.) to finish their fall season at 10-1 overall.
As the 2022 season starts, expect Lake Forest to be a large favorite to win another MWC crown. However, the likes of Monmouth (Ill.)-(8-2 overall, 8-1 in the MWC in 2021), Chicago (8-2, 7-2), Ripon (6-3, 5-3), and even Illinois College (5-5, 5-4) hope to dethrone the Foresters in hopes of advancing of postseason play. Believe it or not, the Blueboys ended their season with five straight wins after starting it with five straight losses. It'll be interesting to see if IC can carry its' season-ending winning streak into this fall.
