Frontier Conference (FC)-(NAIA)


Overview: As this post was being typed, the 2023 NAIA college football season was already one week old, with the Carroll College Saints edging the Montana Tech Orediggers 21-19 in the season opener for both teams on August 26. The Saints were one of four Frontier Conference teams to open the current season with wins, including the College of Idaho, Montana State-Northern, and Rocky Mountain. The aforementioned Battlin' Bears stunned a then #19-ranked Dickinson State squad in the closing seconds to open their season at 1-0 overall.

As for how the 2022 season ended, it was yet another tight race for the Frontier Conference crown, as Carroll and the College of Idaho both finished the regular season at 8-2, followed by Montana Tech at 7-3, and Montana Western at 7-4 overall, as well as 6-4 in conference play. 

However, it was Carroll that represented the FC in the NAIA playoffs, with the Saints' season coming to a close at 8-3 overall after a tough 17-14 loss at Grand View in the first round. Who knows how the 2023 season will end for this storied conference based mostly in Montana, with portions of Idaho and Oregon thrown in just for good measure.
