Ivy League-(FCS)
Overview: After going through a 2020 season that wasn't due to COVID-19, the Ivy League bounced back in a big way for the 2021 season, as five of the league's eight teams were separated by two games in the race for the championship. In the end, both Dartmouth and Princeton shared the title after finishing the season at 9-1 overall, and 6-1 in conference play.
Dartmouth's only loss of the 2021 season came on October 22. That was when Columbia (7-3, 4-3) pitched a 19-0 shutout over the Big Green on the road. As for Princeton, the Tigers' lone setback occurred on November 5, when Dartmouth rolled to an easy 31-7 win. That victory enabled the Big Green to earn its share of the Ivy League title.
While falling one game short of the Ivy League championship, the Harvard University Crimson still had a good season, finishing the 2021 campaign at 8-2 overall, and 5-2 in conference contests. Both of the Crimson's losses came by a combined five points in back-to-back weeks, losing to Princeton in a five-overtime heartbreaker on October 23, followed by another tough loss to Dartmouth a week later. However, Harvard did end its season in dramatic fashion, knocking off archrival Yale (5-5, 4-3) 34-31 in the final seconds on November 20.
So, what does the 2022 season hold in store for the Ivy League? Well, don't count out any of the eight teams in their quest for the title. Especially in a conference that doesn't any of those aforementioned teams to postseason play of any kind. In other words, don't be surprised if any of those eight teams finish at or near the top of the standings this fall.
