North Star Athletic Association (NSAA)-(NAIA)
Overview: The Dickinson State University Blue Hawks continued their dominance of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) in 2019 and 2020, winning their fifth and sixth straight conference championships, respectively. The Blue Hawks fell to eventual national champion Morningside in the first round of the NAIA playoffs to finish the 2019 season at 8-3 overall, while the 2020-21 squad suffered the same fate, losing to eventual national runner-up Northwestern (Iowa) to end that season at 9-1 overall after finishing the regular season undefeated at 9-0.
With the 2021 season just around the corner, the NSAA will have another team to join the mix this fall, as the Iowa Wesleyan College Tigers from Mount Pleasant, Iowa joins the conference after downgrading from the NCAA Division III level. That move gives the NSAA seven teams for this season.
