THE RFC MYC: New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC)-(NCAA Division III)

New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC)-(NCAA Division III)

Overview: The Salisbury University Sea Gulls once again dominated the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) on the way to yet another conference championship. The Sea Gulls finished undefeated in NJAC action at 6-0 en route to finishing the regular season at 8-1. Sadly, Salisbury's season came to a close in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs, falling to fellow Maryland foe John Hopkins, 45-20, to finish its season at 8-2 overall.

The only other team to finish the 2021 season with a winning record in NJAC play was Kean. Despite going winless in non-conference play at 0-3, the Cougars managed to post a mark of 4-2 in conference games. That gave Kean a final mark of 4-5 overall.

On the other hand, the only other NJAC squad to finish last fall with at least five wins was Christopher Newport. The Captains from Newport News, Virginia finished third in the NJAC at 3-3, and 5-5 overall. Additionally, the 2021 squad probably should be nicknamed the "Cardiac Captains, as CNU finished 3-2 in games that were decided by seven points or less.

Going into the 2022 campaign, expect Salisbury to soar to another championship season in the NJAC, with the other six teams looking to stop the Sea Gulls in their quest for another conference crown.
