Empire 8 Conference (E8)-(NCAA Division III)

Overview: The Cortland Red Dragons were the class of a seven-team Empire 8 Conference (E8) in 2021, finishing undefeated in conference play at 6-0 en route to a final overall record of 11-1. The Red Dragons' season ended with a tough loss to RPI in the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

The only other E8 team to post at least eight wins in 2021 was Brockport. The Golden Eagles finished the season at 8-3 overall after posting a 4-2 record in league games last fall. Their season ended on a winning note with a 20-7 win over Washington & Jefferson in the ECAC Clayton Chapman Bowl on November 20. 

As the 2022 season gets closer to getting underway, expect both Brockport and Cortland to challenge for the E8 crown once again, with Alfred (5-5, 4-2) and Utica (6-5, 3-3) also looking to put themselves into the conversation for a conference championship this fall.
