This week's edition of "RFC Throwback Thursday" takes us back to Sunday, October 3, 1982. That was when the University of San Diego Toreros traveled to Los Angeles to face the Occidental College Tigers in an NCAA Division III game that aired on CBS in place of the NFL during the players' strike that season. The Tigers finished the 1982 season at 4-5 overall, while the Toreros finished at 4-6 overall. Sadly, Occidental dropped its football program in 2020. Meanwhile, San Diego's program continues to play in the Pioneer Football League, a conference the Toreros have been a member of since 1993, after moving up to NCAA Division I-AA (now FCS).
