Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC)-(NCAA Division III)
Overview: The Husson College Eagles (9-2 overall) dominated the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) ranks in 2016, as they finished the season unbeaten in league play at 7-0. They won the ECFC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs, falling to Western New England, 44-27, in the first round.
Looking ahead to 2017, the ECFC will welcome two new programs in Alfred State from Upstate New Year, as well as Dean College from Franklin, Massachusetts. The Pioneers are on the verge of completing their provisional status period to become a full Division III member, while the Bulldogs make the move to the NCAA from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). On the other hand, Norwich joins the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) after spending the last eight years in the ECFC.
