Southland Conference (FCS)

Overview: After outlasting Abilene Christian 41-34 in the second round of the FCS playoffs, followed by a season-ending loss to eventual national champion Montana State in the quarterfinals, to finish the 2025 season at 11-3 overall, the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will look to win another Southland Conference crown in 2026. But SFA will have solid competition looking to dethrone the Lumberjacks, who finished unbeaten in SLC action at 8-0 last season. Expect challenges from Southeastern Louisiana (9-4, 7-1), second-year UT Rio Grande Valley (9-3, 5-3), and Lamar (8-5, 5-3), amongst other challengers.
