RFC Throwback Thursday: Furman at Appalachian State-1980

This week's edition of "RFC Throwback Thursday" takes us back to October 25, 1980. That was when the Appalachian State University Mountaineers hosted the Furman University Paladins, back when both schools played in the Southern Conference.

Before a crowd of 14,200 spectators at Conrad Stadium, the Paladins edged the Mountaineers 21-20. Furman finished the 1980 season at 9-1-1 overall and unbeaten in Southern Conference play at 7-0, while Appalachian State's season ended at 6-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 in Southern Conference action.
