The final installment of "RFC Throwback Thursday" for the 2021-2022 season turns the clock back to December 18, 1982. That was when the University of Delaware Blue Hens did battle with the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels for the NCAA Division I-AA (now FCS) national championship in Wichita Falls, Texas. Jumping out to a quick 17-0 lead after three quarters, the Colonels held off a late fourth-quarter rally from the Blue Hens in the final seconds to win their second-ever national championship by the final score of 17-14. With the win over Delaware, Eastern Kentucky finished the 1982 season undefeated at 13-0 overall. Meanwhile, with the loss to the Colonels, the Blue Hens settled for a final overall record of 12-2, with their only other loss coming to Temple on September 18.
