Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC)-(NCAA Division III)
Overview: A 42-31 win over Endicott on November 2 helped propel the Western New England University Golden Bears to the 2019 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship undefeated at 7-0 in conference play. They advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs for the fifth straight season, only to have their postseason run cut short in the first round, losing a close contest to Brockport in the closing seconds, 33-28. The Golden Bears finished its season at 9-2 overall with that tough loss to the Golden Eagles.
As for Endicott, the Gulls also finished their 2019 campaign at 9-2 overall. However, they had to settle for an ECAC bowl berth, beating fledgling program Dean in a 52-10 rout. Endicott finished second in the CCC at 6-1 in conference action.
Going into what's likely to be a chaotic, uncertain 2020 season due to the coronavirus, expect both Endicott and WNEU to contend for the CCC crown once again.

Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC)-(NCAA Division II)
Overview: The Tiffin University Dragons clinched the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) championship in 2019 after finishing conference play unbeaten at 7-0 en route to a final overall record of 9-2. However, their stay in postseason play was cut short in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs, as the Dragons fell to Kutztown in a 33-31 heartbreaker.
Going into 2020, Tiffin will enter this season hoping to defend its G-MAC title, with second place Ohio Dominican (7-3, 6-1) and third place Findlay (7-4, 5-2) hoping to have a say in this fall's conference championship conversation.

Mountain East Conference (MEC)-(NCAA Division II)
Overview: The Notre Dame College Falcons from South Euclid, Ohio made another deep postseason run in 2019, finishing at 12-2 overall while winning their second straight Mountain East Conference (MEC) championship. NDC knocked off PSAC foes West Chester and Kutztown in the first two rounds of the NCAA Division II playoffs, before falling to Slippery Rock in a high-scoring 65-59 contest in the quarterfinals.

NDC knocked off PSAC foes West Chester and Kutztown in the first two rounds of the NCAA Division II playoffs, before falling to Slippery Rock in a high-scoring 65-59 contest in the quarterfinals.
Assuming the coronavirus doesn't bring a complete stop to the 2020 season, expect NDC to be favored to win their third straight MEC championship. Should the Falcons falter, however, there are multiple challengers waiting in the wings in Charleston (W. Va.)-(8-3, 7-3), Frostburg State (8-3, 7-3), and West Virginia State (7-4, 7-3). All four teams finished last fall in a four-way tie for second place in the MEC with the now-defunct Urbana University (7-4, 7-3), which closed its doors permanently due to continued concerns over COVID-19 at the end of the spring semester.
While Urbana has closed its doors for good, another program is set to take its place, as UNC Pembroke joins the MEC as an associate member this fall.

THE RFC MYC: Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-(NCAA Division II)
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-(NCAA Division II)
Overview: 2019 proved to be yet another banner year for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), as multiple teams advanced to postseason play last fall, with Slippery Rock (13-1 overall) advancing to the national semifinals, falling to eventual national runner-up Minnesota State-Mankato.
Four other PSAC teams joined "The Rock" in advancing to the NCAA Division II playoffs in Kutztown (11-2, lost to Notre Dame [Ohio} in the second round), Shepherd (10-3, lost to fellow PSAC foe Slippery Rock in the second round), West Chester (9-3, lost to Notre Dame in the first round), and Indiana (Pa.)-(10-2, lost to Shepherd in the first round). A sixth team, California (Pa.)-(7-4 overall) finished third in the PSAC West Division at 5-3, falling short of the postseason.
Assuming that the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic don't derail the start of the season, expect 2020 to be another solid season for the PSAC.

THE RFC MYC: Northeast 10 Conference (NCAA Division II)
Northeast 10 Conference (NCAA Division II)
Overview: The 2019 football season for the Northeast 10 Conference could best be described as "complete chaos", as none of the nine teams in the league won more than seven games overall. In fact, the lone NE-10 squad to even win that many games last year was the University of New Haven, whose Chargers finished 7-3 overall and 6-2 in NE-10 action. UNH shared the conference crown with Bentley, whose Falcons also finished 6-2 in league play, as well as 6-4 overall. Additionally, none of the nine NE-10 teams advanced to postseason play last fall.
As for the 2020 football season, expect the NE-10 as a whole to bounce back, assuming that the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic don't continue to linger well into this fall.

Overview: Alcorn State claimed its second straight Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship, as well as its fourth crown in the last six seasons, outlasting Southern 39-24 on December 7. They advanced to the Celebration Bowl two weeks later, losing to North Carolina A&T 64-44.
While Alcorn State hopes to win yet another SWAC title in 2020, there will be a tremendous change to the conference's membership come 2021, as Florida A&M will leave the MEAC to join the SWAC after this season. FAMU's decision to join the SWAC gives the conference 11 teams by 2021.

Southland Conference (FCS)
Overview: The race for the 2019 Southland Conference championship came down to the final week of the regular season, as both Central Arkansas and Nicholls State claimed a share of the SLC crown after finishing the regular season in a two-way tie for first place. After earning a first-round bye, the Bears fell to Illinois State in the second round of the FCS playoffs in a 24-6 setback. UCA ended its season at 9-4 overall and 7-2 in Southland Conference action after the loss to the Redbirds.
The other SLC co-champion hailed from Thibodaux, La., as Nicholls State edged Southeastern Louisiana in the final seconds to claim a share of the SLC crown. The Colonels downed North Dakota in the first round of the FCS playoffs, before falling to eventual national champion North Dakota State in the second round to finish their season at 9-5 overall and 7-2 in SLC play.
There was a third SLC squad that advanced to the FCS playoffs in Southeastern Louisiana last fall. The Lions rallied in the second half to stun at Villanova in the first round before being crushed at Montana in the second round to finish the 2019 season at 8-5 overall and 6-3 in the SLC.
As for what the 2020 season will hold in store for the Southland Conference, don't be surprised if the race for this season's conference championship comes down to the final week of the regular season yet again.

THE RFC MYC: Southern Conference (FCS)
Southern Conference (FCS)
Overview: The road to the 2019 Southern Conference championship went through Upstate South Carolina, as the Wofford College Terriers did battle with the Furman University Purple Paladins on November 16. When the smoke finally cleared, it was the Terriers from Spartanburg trouncing their archrival Purple Paladins from Greenville in a 24-7 triumph. The win over Furman helped propel Wofford to the SoCon crown, finishing conference play at 7-1 en route to a final overall record of 8-4. The Terriers fell to Kennesaw State 28-21 in a tight first-round contest at the FCS playoffs.
As for Furman, the Purple Paladins settled for a second-place finish in the Southern Conference after the loss to Wofford, finishing SoCon action at 6-2. Just like Wofford, Furman fell in the first round of the FCS playoffs, as Austin Peay pummeled the Purple Paladins 42-6. That crushing loss ended Furman's season at 8-5 overall.
Looking ahead to 2020, expect both Furman and Wofford to have a say in the Southern Conference conversation once again. However, don't be surprised if Chattanooga and The Citadel to provide serious challenges to the Purple Paladins and Terriers, respectively.
